It was around 6 in the evening when I left work and was rushing to college; most of the time I surf my time on social media while going to work and likewise in return, to see for anything new, and updates. Most of the times it appears on social media, or news when you see a shocking and horrible disturbance report. They are not just a report at all. Each word of those reports is like throwing a sharp knife in your heart. It feels like there is not living things on the earth anymore, and life stops for a second. Nothing comes to your mind, what to say, yet, still, there is no one accountable for such horrible incidents that are taking people’s lives every day in Afghanistan.
The scene I scrolled on Facebook was one of those tragic ones. A smiling face with dozens of dust within the broken glasses, drops of blood drained from his mouth; he was a friend I have never met in person, not just him, but couples of youth like him, have been spread upon the road like a rose flower in the wind. He posted a selfie with a short label, "Maybe it is the last smile in a harsh situation." On the other side, dozens of youth and children were fluttering in the blood. Their breath broke. Many lives came to an end within a second when their bus crushed a previously planted bomb on the road.
I felt broken, to observing many lives have trailed off in a second. Now imagine the feeling of parents who patiently grew up these youth in a very troublesome situation. How could a mother believe his son has died, whose voice, most probably she has listened to on the previous day before the explosion; from the radio where his son was reporting the news. His voice has shut forever. His mother would give a kiss on the forehead of a dead body, while she was expecting to welcome his son home after months of studying and working.
Nevertheless, this scenario has been repeating for years, and even its getting worse nowadays, especially that the Presidential Election is coming. The Presidential Candidates are just busy boosting their campaign, and thriving to bring more people to their side from any possible way. The promises they were given five years ago just remained as a promise and words.
The wrap-up and premise are that just the inhabitants who are losing their beloved ones every day. Parents are seeing their boys and girls are losing their lives in the explosion, attacks, or killed as a hostage. Parents are witnessing the growth and death of their beloved ones. Children are losing their lives before their parents do. Recently, the Youth who lost their lives in recent bomb explosion was in the last year of university. Each of them could be the cause of change in Afghanistan. In a country where everything is burst up. The country is losing its elite youth. People are passing their lives within the stress because the country has become the Resort of Mortality.
